In its latest update listing titles that have been rated for release, the South Korean ratings board – the Game Rating and Administration Committee – has indicated that Silent Hill f has also been rated. While no real details about the game have been revealed, the inclusion of Silent Hill f in the list indicates that the game might be done with primary development, and is getting ready for release.
Interestingly, a host of dates next to the Silent Hill f listing also indicate that the game was submitted for a rating back in December. The rating itself indicates that the upcoming horror game will not be suitable for minors.
Konami itself has been quiet about Silent Hill f, however, back in December, the company did talk about being more open with information about the upcoming horror game. In an interview, series producer Motoi Okamoto spoke about the success of the Silent Hill 2 remake, as well as the development of titles like Silent Hill f, and Silent Hill: Townfall.
The company has been generally quite cagey about revealing details about Silent Hill f, however, stating that more information about the game will be revealed “when the time comes“.
Silent Hill f is currently under development with studio NeoBards Entertainment, and doesn’t yet have a release date. We can assume that the title will be coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
In the mean time, Konami is also working on another Silent Hill title, dubbed Townfall, with developer No Code. While not too many details about Silent Hill: Townfall have been revealed either, rumours in the past have indicated that it will be a part of a planned anthology series, with other indie developers also getting a shot at their own take on the Silent Hill franchise.
