Bloober Team has put a lot of work into Silent Hill 2 remake’s atmosphere, maintaining the original’s creepy vibe while adding new features. However, for those who want the full experience of being trapped in a mysterious town and forced to reckon with their sins, there’s an option of all the UI elements.
The developer also confirmed a “90s filter”, which tweaks the color correction, grain effects and screen to resemble the original. Combining the two should make for the most immersive horror experience, even if it can be more challenging.
Silent Hill 2 launches on October 8th for PS5 and PC, with Digital Deluxe Edition owners receiving access on October 6th. Check out more extensive gameplay here. In addition to remapped enemy encounters and more buildings to explore, it features new tracks from legendary composer Akira Yamaoka. Some of the original tracks have also been remade. Head here for more details, and stay tuned for updates.
