Silent Hill fans are getting ready for a new surge of games for the franchise. After years of waiting in limbo, seeing if Konami would bring this IP back to its former glory, the answer finally came. Last year Konami revealed that several games were being produced for the IP and that one of these games would be a remake of Silent Hill 2. We didn’t get too much information from that announcement alone, but we learned that the development team behind this remake would be Bloober Team.
Now we’re left waiting again for more marketing materials to come out. So far, there hasn’t been anything officially revealed. That first announcement offered a small trailer; since then, Konami has been silent. But thanks to one industry insider that has surfaced online under the name Dusk Golem, we have a new report. Dusk Golem is an industry insider that had previously talked about Silent Hill projects being in the works long before they were officially unveiled. Today, thanks to a report from Twisted Voxel, we’re finding out that the insider is making another claim.
According to Dusk Golem, the Silent Hill 2 remake will be 100% bigger than the original game. They don’t expand on how this game will be larger, but it seems that Bloober Team will be adding to the original source material of the game. We’ll just have to wait and see what new content is added to the mix. Likewise, the industry insider made another claim on Discord, stating that they heard some murmurings about a release date. But they were not going to say anything yet until they felt there was a more concrete release date attached to the project.
