For Silent Hill fans, it has been a long dormant period. The Silent Hill franchise was mainly dead after the split between Hideo Kojima and Konami. No new games were being produced, and it seemed like Konami was throwing in the towel for this franchise. However, that changed a couple of years ago. Konami took to the web and unveiled that several Silent Hill projects were in the works. Included in that mix was a brand-new remake of Silent Hill 2. We knew that the development studio, Bloober Team, was working on this game, but we haven’t heard much else besides that initial announcement trailer.
Bloober Team did alert fans last year that development was still progressing. However, the reason that they were mainly silent on the project was that Konami was the team that would update fans on the game. We’re still awaiting updates, but a new report from a rather reliable industry insider has surfaced online. Dusk Golem has been credited in the past for several video game announcements ahead of their official reveal. Today, the industry insider commented on Resetera and alerted fans of Silent Hill 2’s progress.
According to Dusk Golem, Bloober Team is essentially done with the game. Right now, there is just some polishing from a skeleton crew that is still working on the title. This is to clear any bugs or small tweaks before the game is sent to the marketplace. Of course, that might be a good indicator that we’ll get some news soon on when this game will be released to the public. If you recall, earlier this week, a producer for the Silent Hill franchise also mentioned the push for 2024 to see games for the IP.
