She-Hulk: Attorney at Law actress Jameela Jamil has reacted to criticism of an image showing her in costume. She-Hulk is the next live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe series to hit Disney+ after Ms. Marvel, premiering on the streaming service on August 17. The series will follow Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany), a lawyer who works on cases involving superheroes and who becomes one herself when she receives a blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), which allows her to transform into a larger, green version of herself. The show's cast also includes Josh Segarra, Ginger Gonzaga, Jon Bass, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Tim Roth, and Benedict Wong as his Doctor Strange character Wong.
Last week, Empire released a first look at some behind-the-scenes photos of the filming of She-Hulk that included the best look yet at Jamil in character as the villain Titania. The photo depicted the actress in a skintight black costume with a cape, layers of pearl necklaces, and heavy eyeliner. People on social media have been heavily mocking the image, tossing various insults including saying that the costume looks cheap and that her makeup and hairstyling are not to the level they expect from a Marvel production.

Never one to back away from social media criticism, Jamil, who is best known for playing Tahani on The Good Place, took to Twitter to respond to the photo in her typical style. While she accepts "every ounce of shade" that is thrown her way, she did step in to defend her hairstylist. She revealed that the particular photo that has drawn criticism came at the end of a "14 hour stunt day in atlanta heat. Just after being upside down." Check out her
