As if DC fans already didn’t have a hard enough time getting excited about the remaining DCEU releases, a new TV ad for Shazam! Fury of the Gods may have ruined its rumored Wonder Woman cameo, just like Black Adam spoiled Henry Cavill's short-lived return as Superman.
Back in October last year, Black Adam's post-credits scene was leaked online a week before the DC blockbuster was released. Some speculated the footage could have been part of DC's strategy to promote a movie that ultimately ended up underperforming from a business standpoint. Adding insult to injury, both Dwayne Johnson and Cavill were left out of James Gunn's plan for his DC Universe, which is why some now fear Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman fate could mimic that of the other two actors.

In a new promo trailer for Shazam 2, one that exclusively ran on TV commercials, Gadot's Wonder Woman is put at the forefront of the teaser. This prompted many viewers to share stills and videos from the preview on Twitter. While in previous trailers, it was left to the most keen-eyed DC fans to look for clues that Wonder Woman would indeed appear in Shazam 2, this new advertisement suggests Warner Bros. is counting on Diana Prince to help drive interest in the movie.
For the past few months, DC cameos have made the news primarily due to the sheer number of special appearances that have been canceled. This includes another cameo from Cavill in The Flash and Michael Keaton's scrapped Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom footage. Those two actors were not the only ones who suffered that fate, as Gadot herself had a reported cameo in The Flash cut from the film in post-production.
