Sam Raimi returns to the Marvel fold next week when Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits cinemas, likely busting the MCU open even more so than it has been already. Raimi has been connected to Marvel ever since he directed the original three Spider-Man movies starring Tobey Maguire, so it's apropos that he should be back in the director's chair for another big Marvel project after his take on Spidey returned to the big screen last year. Strange isn't Raimi's favorite character in the MCU, though.
No, that honor goes to a version of Spider-Man the director didn't help create. During an appearance on Moviepilot, Raimi revealed his favorite character in the MCU right now is Tom Holland's web-slinger. “He's identifiable as a human being, he's got problems, bad skin, doesn't have enough money, yet, he sacrifices everything to do the right thing,” the Multiverse of Madness director explained when asked why Holland's hero tops the bill.

The MCU's take on Spider-Man has been praised for exactly that quite a lot, especially after fans were given the chance to directly compare all three wall crawlers in No Way Home. As for whether we will see Maguire in red and blue again, while Raimi didn't hint that there is anything currently in the pipeline, he also didn't rule it out. Far from it, in fact.
“I didn’t think it was possible, but anything is possible now,” Raimi said when discussing the possibility of a Spider-Man 4.
