When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, plenty of people sought out games to escape the state of the world for a few hours every day. One of the games which became a sensation seemingly overnight as a result, and is still a presence online for players and content creators, is Among Us. And as a result, the deception game has been finding its way to more platforms. One of these platforms is virtual reality, and if a new leak turns out to be true, it may end up coming to Steam just in time for the holidays.
Among Us is a social deduction game, in the vain of the party game Mafia, originally released in 2018 on Android, iOS, and PC. The game's success came in 2020 as a result of the pandemic and big-name content creators like Pokimane, xQcOW, Valkyrae, DisguisedToast, and others playing the game fairly regularly for almost a year. In the wake of the success, developer Innersloth ported the game to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 in December 2021 before announcing a virtual reality iteration developed in partnership with Schell Games.

Among Us VR was announced as part of the 2021 Game Awards, though no release date or window was set at that time. However, a new alleged leak shared on SteamDB says the current Steam release date is set for November 10, 2022. The site does point out, though, that this information could be wrong and neither Schell Games nor Innersloth has made any official announcement.
