Digimon Survive is an upcoming visual novel game with some role-playing elements and a turn-based combat system. For many Digimon fans the latest game marks a step into maturity for the franchise, as the game will feature an older protagonist, and allow for rich storytelling that makes the player's choices matter. While there has been plenty of anticipation around Digimon Survive, the game has been stuck in development for a significant amount of time.
First announced back in 2018, the game was delayed to 2020 in July 2019. Then in 2020, Digimon Survive's development team informed fans that they wouldn't be getting the game until 2021. In 2021, the game was further pushed back into 2022. While Digimon Survive has faced multiple delays, it seems that these setbacks may be coming to an end, after prominent leaker Nibellion on Twitter has potentially found the game's release date.
Digimon World Remake or Remaster Being Considered
According to Nibellion, a Japanese magazine states that July 28 will be the release date for Digimon Survive on the PS4 and Switch. As this leak comes from a Japanese magazine, though, the release date information only concerns Digimon Survive's launch in Japan. Currently, there is no news on whether fans will see a global launch around July 28, or whether that date will only bring Digimon Survive to a Japanese audience. Considering the amount of time fans all over the world have had to wait for this game, it may seem odd if Digimon Survive does not have a simultaneous global release.
Fans looking for the Xbox and PC versions of Digimon Survive may be concerned by there being no mention of either platform in the leak. Both platforms are still said to be getting Digimon Survive when it launches, though
