4th May — or May the fourth, to get in the spirit of things — is a day that celebrates all things Star Wars every year. Fans of the ever-popular sci-fi universe can always look forward to this day, which often brings with it some exciting announcements. With Star Wars Jedi: Survivor recently bringing the hype back for this storied property, fans are pumped for more. How about a crossover with Rocket League?
Yes, Psyonix's free-to-play arcade sports game is set to receive its own slice of Star Wars very soon. On 4th May, a set of droid-themed content packs will be available for purchase, celebrating the bleepy-bloopy robot companions we all know and love.
Packs containing cosmetics based on R2-D2, C-3PO, BB-8, and K-2SO will be available to buy with Credits. Each one offers something slightly different, but generally they contain skins, toppers, and wheels with which to customise your car to look like said droids. The best are probably the R2-D2 and BB-8 packs, which come with animated toppers that look like the robots are riding alongside you, poking out from the roof of your car.
While these are premium packs, there are one or two other items being made available for free. All players will have access to the «Rust Bucket» Player Title and STAR WARS R2-D2 (Twin Suns) Player Banner.
There's a little more info on the Rocket League website if you're interested. Will you be celebrating Star Wars Day with these droid-themed bits and bobs in Rocket League? Tell us the odds in the comments section below.
