If you secure a job interview at Roblox, don't be surprised if the interview ends up being held in Roblox.
Roblox Corporation this week introduced the Roblox Career Center, which is described as "an experience directly on Roblox where early career candidates can dive into our immersive platform firsthand."
The idea behind the career center is to allow potential candidates to experience the Roblox platform while also giving them background on the company and preparation materials for interviews.
Roblox is offering access to podcasts, live virtual events, conversations with existing employees, a curated selection of books and other reading materials, and a room dedicated to the company's problem-solving assessments. The "in Roblox" interviews aren't happening yet, but the company will be "inviting candidates to conduct certain initial interviews directly within the experience" soon.
The live virtual events were happening before the career center launched, with the first one involving Roblox CTO Dan Sturman talking to 85 students about the company. Roblox sees such an interactive process, along with access to all those resources, as " the future of recruiting" and "one more way for us to reach top talent."
If you aren't after a job at Roblox, there's still a number of ways you can increase your chances of success at other companies by preparing for interviews. We've got a range of tips for remote job interviews, and Google has an AI-powered "interview warmup" to help you practice answering questions.
