Among Riot Games' line-up of upcoming games comes the announcement for The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story. The game is part of Riot Games' effort to expand its line-up of games based on the setting that was created for League of Legends.
The announcement for The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story was already expected after some information leaked about the game through the South Korean games rating board's website. It made fans aware the protagonist will be Sylas, who is one of League of Legends' popular champions. Previously, Riot Forge has produced two other games with the subtitle A League of Legends Story. One of them was Ruined King, a turn-based RPG focusing on the city of Bilgewater, and the other was Hextech Mayhem, a rhythm game with the characters Ziggs and Heimerdinger.

The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story was developed by Digital Sun and will be published by Riot Forge. The game's description reads: «Play as Sylas and liberate Demacia from tyranny in this action RPG.» There's not much else known about the game at this stage, other than the 2D pixel art style and that it'll release sometime in 2023. However, knowing Sylas' backstory from League of Legends makes it very easy to see where the game might lead. Sylas is a former Mageseeker turned revolutionary in the kingdom of Demacia. After an unfortunate mishap, he is imprisoned and eventually breaks free through his ability to channel the magic of those around him. Once free, he starts a revolution against the prosecution of mages, gathering allies along the way.
