An interesting revenue chart shows the April sales numbers for HoYoverse's two most popular titles, Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. Both games run on a gacha-based system, allowing players to acquire new characters by pulling on the limited character banners.
Genshin Impact's April banners included the release of the long-awaited five-star character, the 4th Fatui Harbinger, Arlecchino. She is the most popular character to arrive on the roster in recent months thanks to a unique storyline and the fact that she plays the role of the main villain in the Fontaine arc.
A Reddit user named Devilmay1233 has revealed an interesting chart that shows the overall April sales numbers for multiple mobile games, including HoYoverse's Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. The information in the chart was taken from a popular business website named Sensor Tower. According to the post, Genshin Impact's April revenue was around $119 million, which is a 75% increase from $68 million in March. In contrast, Honkai: Star Rail's revenue has seen a $35 million drop, from $148 million in March to $109 million in April. Many fans expected Genshin's revenue to bounce back, considering that April featured many notable re-runs besides Arlecchino, including Neuvillette and Kazuha.
Both Neuvillette and Kazuha appeared on the second banner phase of the previous Genshin Impact Version 4.5. Many fans suggest that Genshin's April revenue would've been even higher if Arlecchino had been released earlier in the month. She officially joined the live server on April 24 with the arrival of Version 4.6. Players who want to add her to their roster have less than a week to do so since Arlecchino's banner is scheduled to expire around May 14.
According to the comment section, players expected Honkai: Star Rail's revenue to drop much lower considering that Genshin Impact had a strong month in terms of sales. Honkai had two banner phases in April. The first banner phase featured the popular Honkai: Star
