Many of us probably didn’t envision a future in which we could play AAA games on mobile devices. Well, these days are upon us, and horror fans will be pleased to know that Resident Evil Village is coming to Apple products this Halloween.
According to Capcom, the eighth installment in the Resident Evil series will release for iPhone and iPad on October 30. This continues the long-standing tradition of releasing horror media during the spookiest time of the year.
As for which devices it’ll be on, it’ll be compatible with iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. Any iPad Air and iPad Pro that has the M1 chip or later can run Resident Evil Village as well. According to a report from Gematsu (which cites screenshots from Capcom’s TGS appearance), the game will be priced at 4,990 yen (around $33), while the “Winter’s Expansion” will be 2,000 yen (approximately $13).
Additionally, a Mac version of Resident Evil Village is available now.
As well as that, iPhones and iPads will also feature the remake of Resident Evil 4 at some point. At the time of writing, we only know this version of the Remake will arrive this year. The App store listing says it’s expected to release on December 31, though the description clarifies this is a placeholder.
Both RE games are coming to Apple devices as the tech giant moves towards products that have the processing power to handle AAA games. If you’re after an iPhone 15 Max or 15 Pro Max but you’re not into horror, you may also be interested to learn that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is coming to the phone in 2024.
