Streaming giant Netflix has reportedly shut down its Blue studio.
Game File reports that the company's triple-A Southern California developer has been axed. Blue was seemingly working on a 'big budget multi-device' title, likely the triple-A PC title that was referenced in a job listing back in November 2022.
Netflix had managed to hire a number of triple-A veterans to the studio, including Blizzard and Sony Santa Monica alum Chacko Sonny and Microsoft vet Joseph Staten. That's on top of art director Rafael Grassetti, who previously worked at Sony Santa Monica.
The streaming firm has confirmed that none of these top-level hires are with Netflix anymore.
So far, Netflix's games business has largely been mobile focused. The company has been bringing a lot of existing titles to its platform, as well as creating its own via its own studios and IP.
