A new PUBG: Battlegrounds roadmap reveals upcoming content like a Sanhok rollback, a brand-new weapon, an Arcade Mode overhaul and more. The free-to-play shooter, which launched in 2017, is considered the originator of the popular battle royale shooter genre. Late last year PUBG went free-to-play, and it seems that the game will receive an abundance of new content throughout 2022.
Based on mods created by Brendan «PlayerUnknown» Greene, PUBG kicked off the now immensely popular battle royale genre of competitive shooters. The title, like most of its successors, has players parachute onto an island and scavenge for resources in order to kill others and survive. The survivable area of the island continues to shrink as the match progresses, gradually bringing players into closer proximity in order to force confrontations. Over time the multiplayer shooterhas grown to include a number of different maps, weapons and game modes, with July 2020 seeing the return of PUBG's Sanhok map following a number of tweaks from PUBG Studios.

A PUBG: Battlegrounds 2022 roadmap has been revealed, giving players a look at what they can expect throughout the year. The second quarter of 2022 will revert the Sanhok map to its original form, removing modernized improvements made in 2020, while also tweaking the Paramo map. A new 7.62mm Assault Rifle will also be added alongside training mode and quality-of-life improvements. The third quarter of 2022 will introduce a new map, titled Kiki, along with weapon mastery changes. Finally, the end of 2022 will see dramatic changes made to the Vikendi map alongside an Arcade Mode overhaul. PUBG's full 2022 roadmap can be seen below:
