Sony has officially revealed the nine games coming to the Extra tier of its PlayStation Plus subscription service on Tuesday, February 20. PlayStation Plus is separated into multiple tiers, with the Extra tier giving subscribers access to a rotating selection of PS4 and PS5 games on top of the monthly free games that are available to claim every month.
The free PS Plus games for February 2024 are already available for subscribers to snag for their digital libraries. The free PS Plus games for February 2024 are day one game Foamstars from Square Enix, the well-received shooter Rollerdrome, and the Soulslike action-RPG Steelrising, with the latter available only to PS5 gamers. As it so happens, PS5 gamers will also get exclusive dibs on some of the new PS Plus Extra games for February 2024 as well.
As announced by Sony, the new PS Plus Extra games for February 2024 are Assassin's Creed Valhalla, LEGO Jurassic World, LEGO Worlds, Need for Speed Unbound, Roguebook, Rogue Lords, Tales of Arise, Tales of Zestiria, and The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition. Out of these games, Need for Speed Unbound and The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition are only playable on PS5. The rest are all playable on both PS4 and PS5, with Valhalla, Roguebook, and Tales of Arise having native PS5 options for fans to check out. All nine games will be available to play through PS Plus Extra beginning February 20.
As usual, the new PS Plus Extra games for February 2024 include some pretty heavy hitters. Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a massive open world game that should give subscribers more than their money's worth, while Tales of Arise is one of the highest-rated RPGs of the last five years. The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition is an interesting inclusion, as it was developed by the Xbox-owned studio Obsidian Entertainment.
