Disney+ has released first-look images for some of the star-studded guest cast roster featured in the new original series The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. A reboot of the classic Disney Channel animated series The Proud Family,which aired from 2001 to 2005, the new show comes from the original's creator Bruce W. Smith and executive producer Ralph Farquhar, premiering on Disney + on February 23.
Continuing the story of the original series, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder will follow the adventures of now 16-year-old Penny Proud and her family as they go through the motions of life with heart and their fair share of hilarity. A new decade brings new highs for mom Trudy’s career and new challenges for Penny, including social media bullies, the struggles of teenage life, and a socially conscious neighbor called Maya, who thinks she needs to teach Penny a thing or two. The original cast has returned to reprise their roles along with a range of new actors who will join in supporting roles, including Billy Porter and Zachary Quinto as Maya’s adoptive gay parents.

In addition to the core and supporting cast, Disney has recently released character images for some of the major guest actors. They introduce us to characters voiced by Al Roker (himself), Lena Waithe (College Maya), Jaden Smith (College Myron), Lamorne Morris (himself), Lizzo (herself), and Brenda Song (Vanessa Vue, a local TV news reporter who covers the embarrassing failures of Penny’s father Oscar).
This adds to an already-enviable guest roster that features Chance the Rapper, Leslie Odom Jr., Tiffany Haddish, and Lil Nas X. Lizzo will appear as a guest singer whom Oscar hires to perform
