Darlene Snell’s reign as heroin queen ended in theOzark season 4, part 1 finale, but it has yet to be revealed what will become of her heroin farm in part 2. Viewers were shocked when, in the final moments of Ozark season 4, part 1, Omar Navarro’s nephew, Javi, unceremoniously shot Darlene and Wyatt at her home. Their murders brought the end of two series-long storylines and raised many questions as to how the series will end in Ozark season 4, part 2, set to debut later this year.
Darlene was one of the first characters introduced in Ozark, just after the Byrdes arrived in the Ozarks from Chicago. Having offered to establish a money-laundering empire for a Mexican drug cartel in exchange for his life, Marty Byrde arrives in the Lake of the Ozarks and begins seeking businesses through which to clean the cartel’s money, but clashes with the heroin-dealing couple Darlene and Jacob Snell. In Ozark season 2, Marty needs Darlene’s help in establishing the cartel’s casino, which she gives in exchange for Zeke—a child that Darlene and the Byrdes had equal (though not coordinated) parts in orphaning. Having made the exchange, Darlene seems to embrace life as a mother to Zeke and girlfriend to the decades younger Wyatt, all while carrying on her life as a heroin-dealing killer.
