Ubisoft's upcoming Prince of Persia Sands of Time Remake has passed an "important milestone" in its development, the publisher has said.

"This decision is an important step and the team, building upon the work achieved by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, will now take the time they need to regroup on the scope of the game to deliver you the best experience for this remake of an all-time classic, when it's ready", Ubisoft wrote in an official announcement last year.
Earlier this year, Ubisoft revealed that the remake was in its conception phase with Ubisoft Montreal building up the development team, suggesting that the game wouldn't be released anytime soon.
Fast forward six months, and on X, the publisher has now posted a brief update on the game's development, stating that an important milestone has been reached. Ubisoft added that more information about the game will be shared in the future. "As you know, the passionate team at Ubisoft Montreal is reimagining this legendary story, and we are glad to announce today that the project has passed an important internal milestone and development is progressing", the post on X reads. "We look forward to sharing more in the future!"
