The best moments of one of the original Pokémon games, Pokémon Yellow, sadly haven't been repeated across the mainline game series. Being given all three starters — Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle — over the course of the game was a fun way to get some of the most powerful and popular Pokémon, one that made players feel like a true Pokémon Master. Whether or not future games will pick up this feature can't be said for certain, but the prospect looks grim given that Pokémon Yellow is 24 years old.
PokémonYellow, also called Special Pikachu Edition, was a sequel to the original Pokémon Red and Blue games. Instead of picking from Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle, players were given an irritable Pikachu, just like the main protagonist of the Pokémon anime, Ash Ketchum. Also just like Ash's Pikachu, Pokémon Yellow's won't stay in Poké Balls, instead following behind the main character. It may be very similar to Red and Blue, but it also has features that are designed to make it emulate the anime, such as Team Rocket appearing to foil the player and some of the Gym Leaders' teams being shifted to match the original series. Some anime moments are missing from Pokémon Yellow, however, such as the iconic flocking Spearow scene early in the series that helped Ash earn Pikachu's trust and respect.

Despite being over two decades old, Pokémon Yellow is still a classic game with a lot to offer. It was the first title to have players' Pokémon walk with them outside of Poké Balls, a feature that would be repeated several times across the mainline series.
