Let’s get straight to the point — Greninja is an absolute monster in Pokemon Unite in the right hands, shredding through enemies like one of its shuriken through butter. You’ll see it pop up in plenty of games, especially in solo queue, and it’s often a race to see who locks it in.

However, with great strength comes great difficulty. Greninja is tough to play, tougher to master, and is one of the most fragile Pokemon in the game. You can’t just rush in all guns blazing, because that will help nobody.
Greninja is the Pokemon you turn to when you want extreme damage coming from the middle path, and have time to farm up before being called into action in the side lanes. It takes ages to fully reach its max potential, so you’re going to need a team that can hold its own in the top and bottom until then.
Be mindful, however, that in solo queue players tend to rush to lock in hypercarries, and with Greninja being so dependent on both farm and time, you may be left completely nullified if you’re not afforded both. As such, it’s best played in premade teams where you know your position.
A pretty standard build, your job with this setup is to decimate the enemy team through having as much damage as possible. You do this while becoming difficult to hit through mobility, while slowing enemies so that your teammates can follow up.
Double Team acts as a survivability tool as much as an offensive move, and you can use it to escape if things get a bit tough. Water Shuriken is your main damage dealer, especially on level 11 when you gain more shurikens. Look to unleash Waterburst Shuriken whenever it’s off cooldown and enemies are grouped.
