With Generation 9 releasing this Fall, Pokémon Trading Card Game fans may be wondering when the TCG will get its first Pokémon Scarlet and Violet cards. In the second Pokémon Scarlet and Violet gameplayer trailer in June, Game Freak announced that Gen 9 would launch on November 18, 2022. With the release of the new generation just around the corner, it sparks the question of when the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet TCG series will also make its debut.
After the release of the Pokémon Astral Radiance TCG set in May, the Pokémon Sword and Shield series has seen a total of ten mainline expansions and special Pokémon card sets. Following the release of the Pokémon GO TCG crossover in July, the Sword and Shield TCG series is getting its next set Lost Origin on September 9, 2022. The Pokémon Lost Origin TCG expansion release will feature the debut of Sinnoh Legendary Giratina as a VSTAR card and will bring back the Pokémon Platinum «Lost Zone» mechanic.
