The Pokemon Company and TiMi Studio Group released Pokemon Unite last year, and the MOBA has reached a considerable player base through multiple updates over the months. The Pokemon Unite first anniversary plans have been revealed, and the big update will include numerous changes to the game.
Pokemon Unite has confirmed several new things coming to the game with the one-year anniversary update, including six Pokemon, a game mode, events, and Pikachu Holowear. The previous seasons of Pokemon Unite offered battle pass progression through weekly and seasonal missions, but the year-one patch also includes its own challenges to complete for free rewards. A system called Pokemon Boost Emblems is among the additions to the MOBA, and they rank between gold and bronze, which may suggest that which one a player gets is based on gameplay.

The first wave of Pokemon joining Pokemon Unite with the big upcoming patch are the Gen 4 Eeveelution Glaceon, Buzzwole, and Tyranitar, while the second wave remains undisclosed by TiMi Studio Group. Pokemon Unite players participating in the anniversary festivities can acquire Glaceon between July 21 and August 14. Buzzwole arrives on August 4, and Tyranitar makes its debut on August 16. Although the Pokemon Unite first anniversary trailer may have small hints at the second wave of Pokemon, they may remain obscured until September when they start to roll out.
