Given the rarity of the Top 10, only the most devout collector is likely to have these in their collection.

Given how uncommon it is for Charizard to be knocked off its number one pedestal, it's no doubt surprising that Greninja ex was the card to do so. As speculated by TCGplayer, there could be several factors contributing to the card's massive price point, most obviously the fact that's from the recent set which is still relatively new. Since there are fewer copies of Greninja ex out in the open, that's likely caused the price spike but as the set ages, it'll probably level out to a more reasonable amount.
