Using strategies they have a reputation for making, a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player created one for taking down Venusaur the Unrivaled in a single strike, using their trusty Magikarp to land the finishing blow. Known as the Seed Pokemon, Venusaur is the first of three consecutive Seven-Star Tera raid battles that were announced during a Pokemon Presents broadcast that took place on Pokemon Day. At the time of writing, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have until the evening of Tuesday, March 5, to face this powerful Kanto starter Pokemon, which has the Ground-type as its Tera type. Though its type is changed to Ground for the battle, Venusaur the Unrivaled will make short work of unprepared Pokemon teams since it will immediately use three of its seven moves at the start. Venusaur will use Sunny Day and Growth to bolster its potency, and then use Petal Blizzard, a physical Grass-type attack that can take down any Pokemon with weak defenses.
Though some strategies for taking down Venusaur have become popular, one Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player returned to using the methods that gave them a reputation. A Reddit user named Nommable123 posted a video on the r/PokemonScarletViolet subreddit of their successful attempt at defeating Venusaur with their prized Shiny Magikarp as the star. Similarly to their Blaziken Tera raid strategy, Nommable123 had three other Pokemon take the field in supporting roles. These Pokemon were Medicham, Golduck, and Thundurus. These Pokemon's roles were to take down Venusaur's defenses, buff the Magikarp after Venusaur used its stat-resetting maneuver early in the fight, and use healing cheers if needed.
