As the Pokemon series approaches its 26th anniversary, The Pokemon Company appears to have news to share with the gaming world. On Pokemon Day, which is on February 27th, The Pokemon Company will have a «Pokemon Presents» presentation in which it will likely show off some new information regarding games in the series. A «Pokemon Direct» in 2019 was the only other time a Pokemon-specific Nintendo Direct-like video was released on Pokemon Day.
Pokemon Day is celebrated on February 27th to mark the original Japanese release of Pokemon Red and Green on February 27th, 1996. The original Pokemon Green version was changed to Pokemon Blue for the international versions, which were released in the fall of 1998. Pokemon Day started in 2016, on the 20th anniversary of the original games' release.
Pokemon Go Confirms Community Day Dates for March, April, and May
The Pokemon Company made the announcement Thursday morning that a Pokemon Presents video will release on Sunday, February 27th, at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET. The Pokemon Company has stated it will run for about 14 minutes. As expected, The company did not go into any detail on what might be shown off during the presentation.
While it is unclear what The Pokemon Company will have to show off, there are some likely candidates. There are a number of Pokemon mobile titles, as well as Switch games that could make an appearance. Already in the days leading up to Pokemon Day, there have been a number of announcements for some of its titles. Pokemon Sword andPokemon Shield announced new Max Raids in the lead-up to Sunday's Pokemon Presents.
More announcements are expected in the days to come before Pokemon Day arrives. This should mean that some smaller events like the aforementioned Pokemon
