The Pokémon Center has revealed that Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which is set to release on January 28, is experiencing shipping delays lasting into February. The upcoming action role-playing game will put a whole new spin on Pokémon, featuring real-time combat in a large open-world environment. While Pokémon Legends: Arceus looks to update classic gameplay, fans may have to wait a bit longer than expected before they play it for themselves.
While the game will still revolve around hunting and capturing pocket monsters, Pokémon Legends: Arceus will also feature several gameplay innovations. Wild Pokémon encounters have been completely reworked, withdifferent Pokémon will now reacting to players in different ways. Skittish Pokémon will run away from the player, calm ones will not react and aggressive ones will attack the player on sight. Stealth can be used to easily catch even an aggressive Pokémon, but failing the first try will force a fight. Battles are conducted in real-time, rather than being turn-based, with a recent Pokémon Legends: Arceus gameplay preview trailer showing off battles alongside other new features.

As revealed by Twitter user PokeBeach, The Pokémon Company's shipments of Pokémon Legends: Arceus are being delayed due to global shipping constraints. While the game is still set to release on January 28, copies are not expected to reach buyers until between January 31 and February 4. The issue seems to only be affecting orders from The Pokémon Center, the franchise's official online store, so it is unclear whether these delays will also affect orders from other retailers and online venues.
