In late 2020, at The Game Awards, developer Saber Interactive revealedEvil Dead: The Game, an asymmetric multiplayer horror game inspired by titles like Dead by Daylight and Friday the 13th: The Game. Evil Dead: The Game has since confirmed that Ash Williams actor Bruce Campbell will be included in the game, as well as many of the series' original cast. Yet as Evil Dead: The Game's release window approached, multiple times, the game has been delayed — and it appears it's doing so once more.
According to an official announcement made via Evil Dead: The Game's Twitter account, it will no longer be released in February. The only reason cited for the delay is that the development team at Saber Interactive wants to «deliver the best possible experience,» which is developer shorthand for any number of reasons. At the very least, it can be assumed Saber will take the extra time before launch to make Evil Dead: The Game better than it would have been otherwise.
Evil Dead Appears To Be Missing One Important Character
To Saber's credit, it has already announced Evil Dead: The Game's new release date. It's not a tremendous delay, but Evil Dead fans will certainly be waiting longer than expected. Evil Dead: The Game will now arrive on May 13, a delay of over two and a half months. May 13, perhaps not coincidentally, happens to be a Friday the 13th.
Since Evil Dead fans have been looking forward to February for some time, Saber does want to offer something during the month Evil Dead: The Game was supposed to launch. As such, Saber has confirmed that it will be sharing a new trailer for Evil Dead: The Game in February. It's not much, but it's more than nothing. The trailer will hopefully make it easier for Evil Dead fans to stay patient
