A Pokemon GO player who caught a Misdreavus took a close look at it and discovered something rare: it's completely weightless. The Pokemon has caught the eye of the Pokemon GO community, with some sharing their own rare finds.
Pokemon GO players discover odd variations of pocket monsters all the time, like shiny nundo Eevee that was simultaneously rare and useless. With every player being encouraged to catch them all, peculiar finds like these are bound to pop up from time to time.
Pokemon GO player Ryanisreallame shared their Misdreavus discovery with fellow players. They uploaded a screenshot demonstrating the Pokemon's 0kg weight, and noted that although they had been playing Pokemon GO since its release in 2016, they'd never found a Pokemon that was weightless before.
Other players who responded to Ryanisreallame were mostly surprised at the find, as many didn't know that a Pokemon could simply be labeled as having no weight. However, it seems there's an explanation. Player bolt422 noted that they also have a 0kg Pokemon, but their 0kg Gastly and Joltik actually weigh around 0.01kg. They noted that if the player looks up their 0kg catch in their Pokedex, the Pokedex will state that the smallest find was 0.01kg, not 0kg. Ryanisreallame checked their Pokedex and confirmed the same thing for their Misdreavus was true. It seems that the game rounds the Pokemon's weight down if it's that low.
While it seems that the Misdreavus has at least some weight to it, one might expect that of this particular Pokemon. While it makes some sense for a Gastly to be weightless, given its nature of being a ball of gas, Misdreavus' design specifically includes a set of stones that it wears around its neck. One might assume that they would add some heft to the Pokemon, especially given that Misdreavus does typically weigh around 1kg in the mainline games. However, one player has previously discovered that they had a 0kg Pidgeot in their collection, which is considerably more absurd
