A brand-new mobile platformer called Poinpy, developed by Downwell creator Ojiro Fumoto, was revealed during today's Netflix Geeked Week 2022 stream. The upcoming title tasks players with climbing a vertical map and collecting food to feed a very hungry monster. Netflix has released game collaborations in the past, like a Money Heist crossover with Free Fire, but the popular streaming service now seems to be putting a strong focus on original video games.
While the service is most well-known for streaming movies and series, Netflix has integrated itself into the video game industry too. In the past this has mostly consisted of video game tie-ins with the service's collection of original series and films. For example, a Free Fire crossoverlet players of the battle royale title tackle a mission based on the Netflix-original crime drama Money Heist. However, Netflix itself has also become a platform that hosts exciting games based on new or existing properties. To broaden Netflix's gaming horizons, Netflix Geeked Week unveiled the Queen's Gambit: Chess mobile game alongside other exciting titles.

Netflix Geeked Week 2022 premiered a reveal trailer for Poinpy, which was subsequently posted to YouTube by Netflix. The colorful mobile platformer, created by Downwell developer Ojiro Fumoto, sees players climb through levels to escape a large catlike monster pursuer. Collecting fruit can satisfy the beast's appetite, but if time runs out the player is engulfed in the creature's fiery breath.
