Sony Interactive Entertainment will reportedly hold a PlayStation Showcase ahead of this summer’s planned video game events.
That’s according to Giant Bomb journalist Jeff Grubb, who has regularly reported on planned summer events ahead of their announcement in the past.
According to Grubb, a PlayStation Showcase will be held sometime before the Summer Game Fest event on June 8, the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase on June 11, and Ubisoft Forward on June 12.
The report follows this week’s confirmation that the planned return of a physical E3 event has been cancelled due to a lack of support from major publishers.
“This was a difficult decision because of all the effort we and our partners put toward making this event happen, but we had to do what’s right for the industry and what’s right for E3,” ReedPop’s global VP of gaming Kyle Marsden-Kish said in a statement provided to VGC.

“We appreciate and understand that interested companies wouldn’t have playable demos ready and that resourcing challenges made being at E3 this summer an obstacle they couldn’t overcome.
“For those who did commit to E3 2023, we’re sorry we can’t put on the showcase you deserve and that you’ve come to expect from ReedPop’s event experiences.”
