The PlayStation Store is currently down, coinciding with Tuesday’s release of the highly anticipated Stray and the launch of the MultiVersus open beta.
According to the official PlayStation Network service status page, PlayStation Store, account management, and gaming and social features are all currently “experiencing issues”.
Over the past hour PlayStation UK’s official Twitter support account has been fielding queries from multiple users asking why they’re unable to access online services or download games purchased from Sony’s marketplace.

As well as today being Stray’s release date, early access to the MultiVersus open beta went live at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST.
Tuesday also saw the first PlayStation Plus refresh for the service’s Extra and Premium tiers.

15 new games have been made available for PS Plus Extra and Premium members to download today including Stray, Marvel’s Avengers, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, five Assassin’s Creed titles and two Saints Row ones.
Premium members can also download three additional PSP titles today as part of the service’s expanded ‘Classics’ line-up: Echoshift, No Heroes Allowed! and LocoRoco.

“We’re doing some maintenance on PlayStation Network right now,” reads an on-console message one Twitter user received and shared online. “Please try again later.”
A new, free seven-day PlayStation Plus membership trial could also be putting additional strain on the PlayStation Network.
