A Stray modder is taking requests from cat-owners to add their pets into the popular sci-fi title. Stray had been highly anticipated and was the most wish-listed title on Steam prior to its release a week ago. Since its launch, Stray has been extremely popular with fans, currently holding the title of the highest user-rated game on Steam with an approval of 98% out of over 40,000 reviews from verified owners of the cat-helmed title.
A lot of the praise for Stray came from its story, and cat lovers found themselves applauding the title's accurate cat animations and how the protagonist interacts with the detailed, robot-inhabited cyberpunk world of Walled City 99. However, a lot of cat owners who played the game found themselves wishing they could customize the titular cat to mirror their own, which was a feature that had been discussed by the development team but was ultimately decided against due to production limitations and narrative justification, with the team wanting to tell the story of this particular cat - one that was based upon BlueTwelve co-founders' cat Murtaugh — who they wanted to be recognizable and unique in the game.

Fortunately, as reported by Eurogamer, a Nexus Mods user by the name of NorskPL is taking commissions to customize the cat in Stray to match the unique look of players' specific pets, or other fun designs players can think up. The commissions are done on a name-your-own-price basis but are dependent on complexity, and those who aren't modders themselves have been quick to take NorskPL up on the offer.
