PlayStation Plus subscribers’ free Essential games for the month of July are Borderlands 3, NHL 24, and Among Us, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced Wednesday. Players can download the trio of games beginning Tuesday, July 2.
Borderlands 3, available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, is Gearbox Software’s 2019 entry in the futuristic first-person looter-shooter franchise. Players play as one of four customizable Vault Hunters on an adventure to take down a crazed cult known as the Children of the Vault. If you’re looking for a co-op action shooter, whether that be for online play or local split-screen play, Borderlands 3 is a fun choice.
NHL 24 is last year’s entry in the longrunning EA Sports hockey sim. New in the ’24 entry are EA’s Exhaust Engine, a refreshed Total Control Skill Moves system and a revamped Vision Passing system.NHL 24 is available for PS4 and PS5, and supports cross-play with Xbox One and Xbox Series X versions of the game, respectively.
Among Us is… come on, you know what Among Us is! You don’t? Seriously?! OK, this is the kid-friendly, viral-smash, social-deduction, online multiplayer game where players need to work together to identify the Imposter among them, and hopefully survive the process. Among Us is available for PS4 and PS5.

PS Plus subscribers can still pick up June’s PlayStation Plus Essential games — SpongeBob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake, AEW Fight Forever, and Streets of Rage 4 — through July 1.
