During the events ofAvengers: Infinity War, the Hulk personality within Bruce Banner refuses to cooperate after a brutal beating from Thanos. After the Blip, Bruce spends the next five years working with gamma radiation to combine the personalities and bodies of his human form and that of the Hulk. By the beginning of Avengers: Endgame, Bruce has become «Smart Hulk,» which essentially consists of Bruce's brain in the body of the Hulk.
