According to Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani, attending MCU crew screenings has a major downside. Following the conclusion of the popular Disney+ series Moon Knight and the massively successful film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU's next franchise entry, Ms. Marvel, will see Vellani star as its titular character, a Pakistani-American Jersey City high school student named Kamala Khan who becomes imbued with cosmic powers through special bangles. Originally introduced to Marvel Comics in 2014, Kamala has previously been featured in a variety of animated television shows as well as video games, but she will make her live-action debut on June 8.
Ms. Marvel is the latest MCU Disney+ TV show to introduce a new character who could potentially have a big impact on the franchise moving forward. Marvel has been using Disney+ shows to launch new superheroes, like Kate Bishop and Echo in Hawkeye and Marc Spector/Steven Grant in Moon Knight. It seems to be a strategy they're confident in, as She-Hulk will continue this trend by adding Jennifer Walters, Bruce Banner's cousin, to the MCU.
