It was easy to burn through HP or SP when exploring the Metaverse in Persona 5. Since Persona 5 Strikers abandons the turn-based combat from its predecessor, the Phantom Thieves need to have as much HP/SP as possible when infiltrating the Jails around Japan. Fans of Persona 5 will be familiar with the HP/SP-restoring items that could be found in vending machines or bought at stores. They'll also remember that the more reliable HP/SP-restoring items could be cooked.
Persona 5 Strikers expands Joker's menu by adding more recipes than just Leblanc's trademark coffee and curry. There are a total of 19 recipes in-game and some are missable. While Strikers players could purchase items at the stores or using Sophia's Shop, having a few meals and coffee can help the Phantom Thieves in a pinch.
Persona 5 Strikers: How To Unlock The Best Armor In The Game
Unlike Persona 5, curry and coffee can be consumed during combat. This goes for the other recipes as well. Except for coffee, all meals restore health to all allies. Consuming a meal during a Jail King or tough Shadow fight may put the battle in the Phantom Thieves' favor.
Certain meals restore HP and grant a -kaja/Heat Riser. The meals unlocked through the main story (Shibuya, Kyoto) or bought in Sendai won't have -kaja spell buffs/Heat Riser.
Since some recipes are missable, it's important to always explore every shop in each city. Check every shop on the first day, and every shop again on the last day. Lastly, speak to the other Phantom Thieves. Some recipes are locked behind character-specific Perona 5 Strikers Requests, and once the date is missed, they're gone until the next run/NG+.
Getting recipes and completing Sophia's Shop Requests will unlock more ingredients for cooking.
