A cameo from Batman in the Peacemaker finale would make some of the series' best anti-DC hero jokes even better. James Gunn's The Suicide Squad spin-off has so far proved a massive success for HBO Max, owing in no small part to its irreverent take on the superhero genre. And according to John Economos actor Steve Agee, Gunn himself was «giddy» at how much Warner Bros. and DC allowed him to do with the Peacemaker finale, suggesting there's even more to come.
This revelation, along with reports that even Peacemaker's cast is in the dark about the specific events of the finale, has fuelled speculation about the shocking nature of the series' conclusion. After a number of jokes at the Dark Knight's expense, with Peacemaker claimingBatman's «no kill» rule is ridiculous and calling the world's greatest detective a «p*ssy», it's possible that the parallels between the two vigilantes (and the numerous jokes at Batman's expense) have all been to set up a cameo from the Caped Crusader in the Peacemaker finale. If not, then the show will be missing a perfect opportunity.

While Peacemaker exists outside of the DCEU movies' continuity — Peacemaker's comments about the «no kill» rule confirm it — the possibility that Batman could make an appearance can't be ruled out. After all, it's firmly established that he exists in this universe, along with his own Riddler and Joker. From a narrative perspective, it would make sense, as the Butterfly threat appears too great for Peacemaker and his ragtag crew to handle alone and other DC superheroes appearing would fix a long-standing, repeated issue with heroes sitting
