How do you recharge your mobile? Do you use Paytm for the same? If yes, have you noticed that the app is charging fees when you make mobile recharges? As per the reports, Paytm has started levying platform fee for recharges done via the app. What needs to be noted is that the charge is not fixed. That is you can be charged anywhere between Re. 1 and Rs. 6 depending on the recharge amount. Also, the Paytm mobile recharge fee is applicable on all recharges, irrespective of the payment mode.
Whether you recharge your phone through Unified Payments Interface (UPI), Paytm Wallet, bank credit or debit card, you will have to pay the charge or extra fee. According to a report by gadgets360.com, the update is not applicable to all the users as of now. "...the additional charge is applicable on transactions above Rs. 100," the report said. Paytm had in the year 2019 tweeted that it would not charge any convenience or transaction fee from customers on using any payment method which included cards, UPI, and wallet.
