Grinding Gear Games has just released an official native Path of Exile client for PlayStation 5.
The new client is available now and is a standalone, separate client so if you want to play the native PlayStation 5 version of Path of Exile, you'll have to go to the PlayStation Store and download it separately to get started. The team has worked to get together the full PlayStation 5 version of the game for a while now, so they’re likely glad it’s finally out and in the community’s hands.
Those on PlayStation 5 can download and play now using their accounts, but if you are looking for supporter packs, those still need a little more time and support to go through publishing. Grinding Gear Games expects those to be available for PlayStation 5 within a week or so. If you are still playing on Playstation 4, you can use that client to purchase supporter packs and extras for now, but if you want to play the full PS5 version, you have the option to get started right away.
Path of Exile continues with the current season and a still quite robust community across platforms. A community run Class Gauntlet event is coming on September 26th. The devs are providing a Hardcore Solo Self-Found Settlers Event League for the event to take place, and The community is supplying a bunch of rewards.
Grinding Gear Games has, of course, been busy also preparing for the Early Access launch of Path of Exile 2in November, which will release on multiple platforms, including PS5.
