A new indie platforming game titled Catch Me! has entered Steam Early Access, promising frantic action as players take turns chasing each other across colorful 2D environments in the style of an old playground game of tag. The quirky multiplayer title releasing on Steam is being developed by German studio ByteRockers' Games, which was formed in 2008 with the goal of creating video games that promote “everyday life skills” without the label of being considered a serious game. Since 2017, ByteRockers' Games has released titles like the colorful insect-eating VR frog survival sim VFrog and the more serious, death-defying roguelike PC title Insurmountable.
Many indie titles like the ones ByteRockers’ Games is known for are initially released on Steam Early Access, which serves as a platform for developers to release their indie games while they are still being worked on — and gain feedback from Steam users ahead of the games’ official launch dates. One of the more recent PC titles to make their debut on Steam Early Access include Magic Design Studios' 2D action rogue-lite Have A Nice Death, which puts players in the role of the Grim Reaper as they hunt down his wayward underlings across the realm of the living. Now, a different game is being introduced through Steam’s Early Access program, one that will put players on the receiving end of a chase instead.
