The first Pokémon Scarlet and Violet cards for the Pokémon Trading Card Game will be revealed during the upcoming Pokémon World Championships in London. The most recent Pokémon TCG set is the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield — Lost Origin set, which is already available in Japan and is set to receive an English language release on September 9, with cards that involve the Lost Zone mechanic, which is similar to exiling in similar trading card games, as it involves taking cards out of the game without discarding them.
The current era of the Pokémon TCG is dealing with the content from the Gen 8 games, which means the cards are based on concepts and Pokémon from Pokémon Sword and Shield, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus. This means that there are cards dealing with things like Dynamaxing, Gigantamaxing, and Hisuian forms for existing Pokémon. There's a good chance that the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield Lost Origin set will be the last one based on the Gen 8 games, as the Gen 9 Pokémon Scarlet and Violet titles are arriving at the end of the year.
