Paradox Interactive and recently-founded studio Channel 3 Entertainment, have announced a publishing partnership for Foundry, a factory-building game that looks set to take on Factorio and Satisfactory.
In development for PC, a demo for Foundry will be available during Steam Next Fext, which will take place next week from 9th-16th October.
With Factorio and Satisfactory the biggest, dominant names in the genre, Foundry will have to bring new ideas to the table, and aims to do so through presenting players – either solo or in online co-op – with a voxel-based procedurally-generated world. You’ll initially have to start off by manually mining and processing resources, but gradually evolve your factory to automate the production line, overcoming the need to make a pipe network, power systems and more.
Paradox has picked up the publishing duties for the game, with Foundry having been in alpha testing on itch.io. Patrik Meder, Vice-president at Channel 3 Entertainment said, “To fully realise this potential, it was essential to collaborate with the perfect partner. Being published by Paradox Interactive allows us to fulfill the vision and ambitions we have for Foundry. “
