Pocketpair has recently apologized to Palworld players for inadvertently fixing a popular bug that previously allowed them to capture Tower Bosses. While the update 0.1.5.0 fixed several bugs and improved the game’s stability, this change upset several Palworld fans who loved the exploit.
Palworld was released in early access last month. Less than a week after that, the first cases of Palworld players capturing the bosses Zoe and Grizzbolt were already appearing online. While this was undoubtedly a bug, capturing Tower Bosses quickly turned into something that many gamers saw as an achievement rather than an issue.
Now, Palworld’s developer Pocketpair has posted a public apology on social media for inadvertently fixing the Tower Boss bug with the new update 0.1.5.0. While there’s a fairly good chance that the comment was sarcastic, at least players can still keep the Tower Bosses they have already captured, as the fix only prevents them from catching new ones. Despite the public apology, Palworld players should not get their hopes up, though, as it’s unlikely that Pocketpair will go back on fixing the glitch.
Unfortunately, this was not the only controversy sparked by the update. Players have also complained that Palworld’s new update changed how Pal breeding works. Before now, it was possible to get rid of negative passive traits by cross-breeding Pals. However, some fixed negative traits are passed down to new generations now. This sparked such an outrage in the community that Pocketpair responded on their Discord servers that this change would be rolled back soon.
Despite the controversial changes, Palworld’s patch 0.1.5.0 still fixes more bad things than it breaks the good ones. The patch fixed several glitches, improved the game’s performance, and enhanced balance. Also, it introduced a useful feature that implemented backup saves to help in cases of players losing corrupted data.
