It's been years since Blizzard first announced Overwatch 2, and soon fans will finally get to play it for themselves. While it's hosted some Alpha tests, Blizzard will soon be launching the first-ever Overwatch 2 closed beta test starting Tuesday, April 26 and until Tuesday, May 17. Now Blizzard has confirmed more details about what Overwatch 2 enthusiasts can expect from the closed beta test.
First off, the Overwatch 2 PvP beta will start at 11am PT. At this point, Blizzard will start sending invites to select participants and rolling out the beta. As the beta test progresses, it's possible that more individuals will be sent invites to participate. Those who want a better chance at getting an Overwatch 2 beta invite can try to earn access through Twitch Drops by watching select streamers on April 27 from 10:00 am PT through 6:00 pm PT.

Lucky Overwatch fans that get an invite to the beta should note that progress made won't carry into the full game. As it stands, Blizzard has not announced any kind of Overwatch 2 release date, and so fans should've expected that to be the case. And since the Overwatch 2 PvP beta is just that — a beta — it will not be fully-featured as the original game, so don't expect Competitive mode or player endorsements.
