Following Norman Reedus' confirmation of Death Stranding 2, creator Hideo Kojima has released a tweet poking fun at the actor's loose lips. 2019's Death Stranding, which stars Reedus as post-apocalyptic deliveryman Sam Bridges, was Kojima Productions' first new game since leaving Konami and becoming an independent developer. In a recent interview Norman Reedus confirmed Death Stranding 2has entered development, and Kojima is apparently seeking violent revenge for the leak.
As a follow-up to the Metal Gear franchise, Death Stranding puts a unique spin on the open-world adventure genre. The innovative title takes players to the post-apocalyptic ruins of America, which are haunted by otherworldly creatures called BTs, and casts them as professional courier Sam Porter Bridges. Using an odradek terrain scanner and navigational tools like ladders and ropes, players must traverse unforgiving landscapes to deliver supplies to various survivors. Hideo Kojima considers Death Stranding to be the start of a new «strand game» genre, which focuses on connecting humanity through navigational gameplay and online mechanics that link players' worlds together. Death Stranding 2 concept art revealed that Kojima had plans for a sequel back in 2020, and Norman Reedus recently confirmed that development of a follow-up has begun.
