Oscar Isaac Surprises Fans At Special Moon Knight Screening Event
Oscar Isaac surprises fans at a special screening event for Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight at Madrid's Cine Capitol. For the most part, the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney+ has been an extrapolation of already-established characters and their stories. Following WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If…?, and Hawkeye, upcoming shows are set to focus primarily on new characters like Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight. The latter of which premieres on Disney+ in just two weeks.
Kevin Feige and company first announced Moon Knight in 2019. After months of casting rumors, Isaac was confirmed to be involved in the project in 2020. He stars as the show’s titular vigilante, Moon Knight/Marc Spector. In the comics, Spector inherits powers dependent upon the lunar cycle after making a life-saving pact with the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. Jeremy Slater serves as showrunner/head writer of the six-episode series, which is directed by Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Diab’s team, including Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. In addition to Isaac, the cast is confirmed to include May Calamawy and Ethan Hawke as its villain. Following Moon Knight’s record-breaking trailer, Marvel Studios began releasing more footage highlighting the Moon Knight's dissociative identity disorder, which has only exacerbated anticipation for what is shaping up to be a wild show.
