Systemic Reaction has been working on its open-world roguelite Ravenbound for some time, and soon enough, players will finally be able to enjoy this unique experience on PC.
With a new trailer shared online today, the developer confirmed Ravenbound will release on PC via Steam next month, on March 30th. The new trailer also provides a quick look at some of the game's features and mechanics, such as the open-world traversal and combat.
Before the game's demo was released during this year's Steam Next Fest earlier this month, I had the chance to try out Ravenbound last year, and what I experienced was interesting. Combining open-world mechanics with roguelite progression is not an easy feat to manage, but it seems like the developer succeeded in merging the two types of gaming experiences in some clever ways, as I highlighted in my preview.
With Ravenbound, Systemic Reaction is attempting to mix two genres with very little in common, and so far, it looks like they are succeeding. While the experience is relatively straightforward, as combat and exploration are standard fares for third-person open-world games, it already feels great to play in its current state, so I am definitely looking forward to experiencing more of Ávalt and challenging the Betrayer and its minions again when the game launches on Steam in the future.
Ravenbound will release on PC via Steam on March 30th, 2023. More information on the open-world roguelite can be found on its Steam Store page.
