Cyberpunk 2077 has come a long way through its numerous updates and hotfixes, but it's still lacking in ways to justify another playthrough. The differences between Lifepaths are mostly nonexistent after the first 30 minutes, and different endings can be acquired by just picking up from any save before the point of no return. But now, a fan may have given us the perfect reason to take to Night City once more.
Survival System from Nexus Mods user Di Crash adds a new layer of difficulty to Cyberpunk 2077, with hunger, thirst, and energy meters. Failing to keep V healthy will cause you to accumulate negative status effects, such as decreased health regeneration, jump height, item capacity, and stamina.

As you can see over on the mod page, Di Crash's survival mode even adds new UI, helping you keep track of all of V's needs. They've also rebalanced the game's food and drink system by, for example, increasing the cost of certain items. As frustrating as this may be, it does make a lot of sense - the game wasn't made with needing to consume food and drink in mind.
The mod was only shared two days ago, but it's already amassed almost 700 downloads and a bunch of positive replies. It might not be the only survival mode out there, but it appears to stand out due to how it overhauls all consumables, giving them different status effects than we see in the base game. For example, alcohol may slow your movement speed and lower your accuracy, so be careful how often you're accepting a drink at the bar.
